Today our people are gathering all around the country to celebrate Juneteenth. To many, a sacred and powerful moment in our history.

On this day in 1865, word of freedom finally reached the last group of enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

And while the physical chains were broken that day, the struggle didn’t end.


Because freedom isn’t something you’re simply given, it’s something you have to design, protect, and grow.

That’s the message I want to leave with you today. Juneteenth is not just about the past. It’s a mirror.

It reflects how far we’ve come and how much farther we have to go.

We may not face plantations today, but we face poverty, exclusion, and exploitation.

We may not be bought and sold, but too many of us still don’t own anything.

 Too many of us are still trapped by broken systems and borrowed dreams.

So my message is this: We must become the architects of our own liberation.

That means doing for self. That means building businesses, owning our ideas, controlling our narratives, and creating wealth that lasts for generations.

We honor Juneteenth not just by remembering—but by rebuilding.


Not just by gathering—but by growing.

Not just by speaking—but by starting something that moves our people forward.
