Greetings!!!
I'm old enough to remember the scene in New Jack City where G-Money says, "CMB, CMB... We all we got! Am I my brother's keeper?"
And Nino Brown replies, "Yes I Am' and then...
**Spoiler Alert**
He kills him.
Now that's for another conversation for another day.
My purposes for mentioning this scene is what G-Money was pointing out. "We Built this S#*!"
"You Didn't Build it by yourself"
CMB - Cash Money Brothers, was a Network!
Networking today has become some trendy business term that people just throw around.
Never really grasping the true essence and power of Networking.
It is soooo much more than "just another business tool".
What if it were the key to building extraordinary relationships that could transform your Life, Business and Personal Growth?
Let me take a sip of my coffee and let's dive in shall we?
Unlocking Success with Dr. George Fraser’s Teachings
Dr. George C. Fraser, The Godfather in the world of Building Relationships & Networking teaches that effective networking is not just about exchanging business cards or making surface-level connections.
It’s about creating deep, authentic relationships that are built on trust, shared values, and mutual growth.
In his groundbreaking works, Success Runs in Our Race and Click, Dr. Fraser reveals the transformative power of strategic, intentional networking.
Networking is About Relationships, Not Transactions
Dr. Fraser often says, “Networking is not about what you know, it’s about who you know, and how you can help them.”
The most successful PowerNetworkers understand that real networking is not transactional—it’s relational.
It’s not about how many people you know, but how well you know them and serve them.
It’s about establishing genuine connections that go beyond business deals and focus on shared growth and support.
In my own experience, I’ve seen the impact of this approach firsthand. By focusing on building authentic relationships, I’ve opened doors that I never thought possible.
The Power of Giving: “The Law of Reciprocity”
Dr. Fraser emphasizes the importance of giving first, without expecting anything in return. The law of reciprocity is a foundational principle in networking.
When you give value to others, whether it’s through advice, connections, or resources, you set the stage for mutual support.
Dr. Fraser teaches that the more you give, the more you will receive—but not always in the way you expect.
Sometimes, it’s the most unexpected connections or opportunities that come back to reward you.
Building Your “Click”
In Click, Dr. Fraser introduces the concept of a “click”. The magic moment you have when you meet someone and everything just clicks.
This isn’t just about liking someone; it’s about resonating on a deeper level. When you build your network with individuals who align with your values and vision, those connections become more than just professional—they become personal.
It’s through these “clicks” that some of the most transformative partnerships and collaborations are born.
I experienced this for the first time when I caught a Greyhound bus for a 26-hour ride to meet Dr. Fraser face to face.
At the time, I was going through one of the roughest periods of my life. My father had just passed, my mother had suffered a heart attack, and I was struggling with over a million dollars in real estate debt during the Great Recession.
When I arrived at the Greyhound terminal, the news reported Michael Jackson’s death—another blow to my already shattered spirit.
Imagine being on a Greyhound bus through the mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee, in the middle of a storm, reflecting on your life and wondering if you might die the same day as Michael Jackson.
But despite the chaos and uncertainty, I made it. I met Dr. Fraser in person, and our relationship has gone from effective to extraordinary—and now we’re friends.
Ten years later, we received a Speaker Legend Award together. That moment was a defining part of my journey—and it all began with that first, challenging connection.
The Importance of Strategic Networking
One of the most important lessons Dr. Fraser teaches is that networking should be strategic. It’s not about trying to connect with everyone; it’s about connecting with the right people.
Building a network that aligns with your goals, values, and vision requires intention.
Dr. Fraser advises that you focus on quality over quantity and take the time to build meaningful, lasting relationships with people who can truly support your journey.
In my own consulting practice, I have found that strategic networking—focusing on those individuals who share my mission and values—has not only expanded my reach but also led to some of my most impactful collaborations.
Maintaining the Network
Networking doesn’t stop at the initial connection. Dr. Fraser reminds us that relationships require consistent nurturing.
Whether through follow-ups, offering support, or simply checking in, maintaining your network is essential.
This is where many people fall short. They make a connection but don’t invest in sustaining it. The magic of networking lies in the ongoing commitment to your relationships.
I always make it a point to check in with people I’ve connected with. Sometimes it’s a simple email or even a quick phone call just to see how they’re doing. It’s a small gesture, but it keeps the relationship alive and meaningful.
Build Your Own Powerful Network
The magic of networking isn’t just about who you know—it’s about who you grow with. That’s why I created The Masters of Business Network (The M.O.B.)—a community of ambitious entrepreneurs, consultants, and business leaders who understand the power of strategic relationships.
If you’re ready to connect with like-minded professionals, gain valuable insights, and tap into opportunities that can transform your business, just let me know and I'll send you an invite.
Don’t just network—build a network that works for you.
Let’s grow together. Let’s win together.
Connect The Dots
Here is a visual illustration of connecting the dots. A monumental moment for Dr. Fraser. One day I may share the backstory.
Let's Connect! Tell Me What You Do!
And Share It With My Network!
